Sunrise Optimist Girls Softball and League is a project and sponsored activity of the Sunrise Optimist Club of Wichita Falls. The softball program is administrated by SUNRISE OPTIMIST GIRLS SOFTBALL, A 501c3 Non-Profit.  No public funds have been or are used in this program. The only paid personnel are the umpires, score keepers, field maintenance personnel, and the night supervisors. All expenses of the program including utilities, field maintenance, upkeep and improvements are paid from operating funds.

The Officers of the Association receive no compensation.  

The Sunrise Optimist Softball Complex,home of the Sunrise  Optimist Girls Softball League and USA Invitational and Championship tournaments  was developed beginning in 1983 by the Club and all of the improvements were built by the club with club funds and donations except for the two center bleachers behind Fields 1 & 2, scoreboards on fields 1 & 2,  and the restrooms between Fields 1 & 2. New improvements are new restrooms between fields 3,4,5., addition of two new playgrounds .  A 2400 sq ft indoor practice facility offering lessons and practice area was added in  2005. Air Condtiioning was added to the facility in 2021. 
 

Sunrise Optimist Girls Softball  is a USA Softball sanctioned program registering teams through USA Softball, the ruling body of Softball.  Teams are eligible for championship play and advancement in USA Softball.  Last season the program has 1032 players in 98 teams in the spring and fall seasons.  The program offers scholarships for players unable to pay the registration fees.
